Church uses 'Heaven' DVD to bring in 'sheaves'FORT WAYNE, Ind. (BP) -- Each of the 4,200 homes in neighborhoods surrounding Waynedale Baptist Church is visited by a member of the congregation at least twice a year, an outreach dear to pastor Wayne Gullion.
This spring, the church is distributing a total of 4,000 copies of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's (BGEA) Heaven DVD door-to-door on alternating Saturdays through May 9, Gullion told Baptist Press. LifeWay pulls 'heaven visitation resources'NASHVILLE (BP) -- LifeWay Christian Resources has stopped selling all "experiential testimonies about heaven" following consideration of a 2014 Southern Baptist Convention resolution on "the sufficiency of Scripture regarding the afterlife."
LifeWay told Baptist Press about its decision to halt sales of heaven visitation resources today (March 24) in response to an inquiry about the book "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper, which is being made into a movie slated for release this fall.
