  STOCKHOLM, Sweden (BP) -- The winners of this year's Nobel Prize in chemistry have been hailed by the body to award the prize as demonstrating "the power of evolution."

  But scientists with Answers in Genesis (AiG) and the Discovery Institute say the Nobel laureates have made no such demonstration and, in fact, have illustrated the necessity of an intelligent designer for the existence of life.

  This year's Nobel-winning research "really has nothing to do with evolution in the sense of Darwin and the sense of going from molecules to man," said Georgia Purdom, a molecular geneticist with AiG, a young-earth creationist organization based in Petersburg, Ky. Read More

  ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BP) -- A landmark study published last month appears to push back on evolutionists' assumptions about human ancestry.

  DNA analysis of an ancient bone fragment, published last month in the journal Nature, concluded the fragment belonged to a 13-year-old girl with a Neanderthal mother and Denisovan father. Evolutionists generally consider Neanderthals and Denisovans to be two groups of ancient human relatives that share a common ancestor with modern humans, but who do not come from the same species, and who rarely if ever mated.   WASHINGTON (BP) -- Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt's resignation Thursday (July 5) amid federal investigations of his spending and management prompted his pastor to lament the "present ugliness" of political attacks and note the high ethical standards to which Christians are held.

  Pruitt -- a deacon at First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Okla., and until early 2017 a trustee of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary -- wrote in his resignation letter to President Trump that he believes "providence brought me into your service," adding, "I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people," according to a copy of the letter tweeted by a New York Times reporter.   TANANA, Alaska (BP) -- Ancient human genetic material harvested in Alaska has been cited by two creation researchers as corroborating evidence of Scripture's claim humans migrated en masse from the Tower of Babel.

  A study published Jan. 3 in the journal Nature claims DNA extracted from the remains of an infant girl buried in central Alaska suggests an ancient migration of people from East Asia, across a frozen land bridge, to North America.

  After scientists extracted the DNA, they dated it to approximately 11,500 years ago, according to common evolutionary dating methods, and discovered commonalties between the harvested genome and the DNA of modern Native Americans. Researchers also found the ancient infant girl had ancestors in East Asia some 35,000 years ago according to evolutionary dating methods. Read More

• 'Genesis: Paradise Lost' docudrama back 1 final night

  PENSACOLA, Fla. (BP) -- A docudrama defending the Genesis 1 creation story is back in theaters one final night Dec. 11, producer Eric Hovind has announced.

  "Genesis: Paradise Lost" will show creation unfold in 3-D animation that Hovind described as utilizing "cutting-edge cinematography, trusted creation science and biblical accuracy" in a Nov. 28 press release. A panel discussion including historians, researchers, scientists and Christian leaders is included in the production.

  "Over the past 150 years, we have seen an increasing attack on the idea that God created the heavens and the earth," said Hovind, president of the ministry Creation Today. "By focusing on creation and the science behind it, 'Genesis: Paradise Lost' will reinforce how the universe was intelligently designed by a divine Creator." Read More

• Christian geologist wins fight over Grand Canyon rocks

  ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BP) -- The National Park Service has agreed to let a Christian geologist collect rock samples from the Grand Canyon for research.

  Andrew Snelling, who has a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Sydney, tried for four years to get permission to collect the samples. The park service only agreed after lawyers with Alliance Defending Freedom filed a federal lawsuit. Read More
