    FRANKFORT, Ky. (BP) -- Amid sexual abuse and harassment scandals involving a bevy of politicians, entertainers and journalists, Kentucky's outspoken evangelical governor has called for the resignation of all state officials who have settled sexual harassment lawsuits.

    Within days of Republican Gov. Matt Bevin's statement -- which drew praise from Kentucky resident and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President R. Albert Mohler Jr. -- Kentucky's Republican Speaker of the House resigned his leadership post and another GOP House member was temporarily relieved of his chairmanship of a key board.     FRANKFORT, Ky. (BP) -- Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed a seminary vice president, Daniel S. Dumas, to oversee the revamping of the state's adoption and foster care system.

(BP) -- Kentucky First Lady Glenna Bevin urged 300 attendees during a Woman's Auxiliary luncheon at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to step out of their comfort zones and get involved with foster care and adoption. (BP) -- Students would be able to express religious and political viewpoints in public schools and on college campuses without interference from administrators under a bill that cleared its final legislature hurdle Monday (March 6) and was headed to Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin to be signed into law.

    FRANKFORT, Ky. (BP) -- Gov. Matt Bevin has been honored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention for his leadership in getting laws passed to protect the state's children, including the unborn.

    Paul Chitwood, executive director of the 750,000-member KBC, presented Bevin the "Guardian of Life Award" at a rally in the Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday (Feb. 8) afternoon.

    Last month, Bevin signed two major pro-life bills into law -- one that requires women to undergo ultrasounds before having abortions and another that bans late-term abortions. Read More

    FRANKFORT, Ky. (BP) -- Planned Parenthood stopped performing abortions at a Louisville clinic after Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin objected to violations of state law.

    The organization had begun offering abortions during the week of Jan. 18 but when that news was made public on Thursday, Jan. 28, Bevin reacted harshly.
