  ST. LOUIS (BP) -- Prominent pastor and former Southern Baptist church planter Darrin Patrick died Thursday night (May 7) after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

  Patrick, 49, was on staff as teaching pastor at Seacoast Church in the Carolinas. He also routinely provided pulpit supply at Southern Baptist churches across the country and was scheduled to preach May 17 at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tenn. Read More

• Acts 29 removes Steve Timmis as CEO for "abusive leadership" accusations

  NASHVILLE (BP) -- Early last week, the Board of Acts 29 voted to remove CEO Steve Timmis from the global church planting network after investigating accusations about his "abusive leadership" style.

  "The Board of Acts 29 was made aware of some accusations of abusive leadership against our CEO Steve Timmis," read a statement to Baptist Press. "The Board launched an investigation of these claims and found evidence that he should be transitioned out of the CEO role immediately." Read More
