• Academic competition to debut for Christian schools

  MIRAMAR, Fla. (BP) -- The Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools has announced it will begin an online-based academic competition, Knowledge Quest, for its member schools next spring.

  OKLAHOMA CITY (BP) -- Since adopting what may be America's most permissive medical marijuana law, Oklahoma has seen pushback by medical experts and other citizens against potential misuse of the drug.

  State Question 788 was adopted by Oklahoma voters June 26 to legalize medical marijuana, but the ballot measure did not provide detailed instructions on who may use marijuana or who may prescribe it. That task fell to state legislators and licensing boards. Read More

  ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BP) -- A landmark study published last month appears to push back on evolutionists' assumptions about human ancestry.

  DNA analysis of an ancient bone fragment, published last month in the journal Nature, concluded the fragment belonged to a 13-year-old girl with a Neanderthal mother and Denisovan father. Evolutionists generally consider Neanderthals and Denisovans to be two groups of ancient human relatives that share a common ancestor with modern humans, but who do not come from the same species, and who rarely if ever mated.
