  • Moore, others ask Trump not to rescind DACA

    WASHINGTON (BP) -- Southern Baptist ethicist Russell Moore and other evangelical Christian leaders have asked President Trump to hold off on another effort to rescind a program for certain undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children.

    In a letter Wednesday (July 8), leaders of the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT) urged the president to maintain Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) until Congress provides a permanent solution. They encouraged Trump to sign such a bill into law. Read More

    SAN DIEGO (BP) -- One number will break the heart of anyone who cares about one of the most vulnerable populations in San Diego. According to North American Mission Board (NAMB) missionary Austin Blanton, 80 percent of the city's foster families decide to return children within the first four months. Many will never take part in foster care again.

    Blanton notes several reasons, from loneliness to the increased stress. Blanton and other local Southern Baptists, though, want to be a part of the solution. Read More
