    WASHINGTON (BP) -- The U.S. Supreme Court provided a promising directive today (June 25) in the ongoing effort by business owners to practice their faith convictions.

    The justices issued an order that annulled a lower-court ruling against Washington state florist Barronelle Stutzman, a Southern Baptist who declined to design flowers for a same-sex wedding.   • 86 die in Fulani herdsmen clashes with Christian farmers

    PLATEAU, Nigeria (BP) -- At least 86 people were killed June 23 in Nigeria's Plateau State in clashes reportedly between Muslim Fulani herdsmen and Christian farmers, Plateau police said.

    Six others were injured and 50 homes were destroyed, Plateau Police Commissioner Undie Adie confirmed the following day, although it was not clear how many of the dead were farmers. The weekend violence capped three days of attacks on Christian farmers in Plateau villages, police told the Guardian, and is the latest in an ages-old feud for land rights. Read More

  • 'I Can Only Imagine' to reach 75 countries

    ASHVILLE (BP) -- A 75-country mission trip would be unfeasible for most Christians, but for filmmaker Jon Erwin, reaching that many countries with the Gospel doesn't require a passport or an overseas flight.

    Thanks to his surprise hit film "I Can Only Imagine," Erwin will reach 75 countries and six continents with the message of Christ by the end of the year -- and he hasn't had to leave his home state of Alabama.

  • Criswell College receives $5 million 'game-changer'

    DALLAS (BP) -- Criswell College President Barry Creamer has announced the receipt of a $5 million commitment that will serve as the lead gift for the college's first-ever residence hall, tentatively set to break ground in the spring of 2019.

    "This is the most significant thing to happen since Dr. Criswell announced his vision to start this school almost 50 years ago," Creamer said June 18. "It's a complete game-changer not only financially, but in what it means for us going forward." Read More
